The Let’s Talk Mini Objects handout gives ideas for providing lots of opportunities to develop communication, interaction and language skills through simple, hands-on activities.
Objects can be used alongside speech, signs, symbols or AAC to support meaningful communication in play and everyday activities.
The activities are easy to adapt and can be used with objects you already have at home or in your setting. You don't need lots of specialist resources, sometimes the smallest objects can provide the biggest opportunities for communication!
Suitable for: Parents, carers and professionals supporting children with communication and language development.
Please note: This resource involves the use of small objects which may present a choking hazard. Mini objects are not suitable for children under 3 or children who continue to mouth objects. Adult supervision is required at all times.
